Celebrating the arts is all about finding inspiration in and appreciating the beauty all around you…even in your own closet. AVLD is the perfect excuse to wear that special piece you’ve been saving. Pull out the ballet flats, the flouncy skirt, the crisp button-down, or whatever makes you feel like the main character. Opera gloves are always encouraged (but never required)!

Some of my happiest moments have been spent getting completely swept away by the arts. You never know where inspiration will come from – it might be a melody, a painting, a costume, or even in that quiet moment when the lights dim and the curtain rises. If you’re at a museum, check out the AVLD museum companion guide to spark inspiration no matter which museum you check out. If you’re not able to make it out today, bring the arts home! Put on your favorite concert movie, watch a classic film, or listen to an album you’ve been meaning to discover.
