Celebrate the arts! Wander around a museum, see a ballet, listen to a classical or jazz performance, or head to the theater. Settle into your seat and get inspired.
Some of my happiest moments have been spent getting completely swept away by the arts. You never know where inspiration will come from – it might be a melody, a painting, a costume, or even in that quiet moment when the lights dim and the curtain rises. If you’re at a museum, check out the AVLD museum companion guide to spark inspiration no matter which museum you check out. If you’re not able to make it out today, bring the arts home! Put on your favorite concert movie, watch a classic film, or listen to an album you’ve been meaning to discover. If you’re looking for recommendations, check out my list of favorites that you can stream at home. However you choose to celebrate, I hope today reminds you just how much beauty there is in the arts…and how lucky we are to share it together.

Cool off with ice cream or frozen yogurt!
A crowd favorite stop each year: ice cream! I’ll be getting a chocolate strawberry swirl with fresh strawberries on top (my go-to). Some of our partner stores are even rolling out specialty flavors just for this: Laufberry, Dreamer Matcha, Lovesick Chocolate, and Cuckoo Cookie Dough. Can’t wait for you to pick your favorite.

Get dressed up for the theater (or the museum... or your own living room)! Pull out that item from your closet you've been waiting for a special occasion to wear.
Celebrating the arts is all about finding inspiration in and appreciating the beauty all around you…even in your own closet. AVLD is the perfect excuse to wear that special piece you’ve been saving. Pull out the ballet flats, the flouncy skirt, the crisp button-down, or whatever makes you feel like the main character. Opera gloves are always encouraged (but never required)!
